Work Opportunities Business Advisory Council This project will establish a permanent Business Advisory Council to assist in advancing employment for individuals with disabilities throughout Snohomish County. The team will work with local human service professionals, hiring managers, business owners, manufacturers and other business professionals to educate them about the value of a diverse workforce that includes employees with disabilities, and recruit these professionals to become members of the Business Advisory Council.
Sustainable Funding Program This project will explore opportunities for corporate giving and corporate match donation programs for Interfaith Association of Northwest Washington. It will identify local businesses that have these programs, criteria for giving, timelines and contact people, and the mechanisms in place for employees to give through the business or on their own. In addition, this project will identify a plan for Interfaith to successfully engage in these corporate giving relationships, including any ongoing resources needed by the agency.
Harvests of Hope: Housing Hope is seeking to create pantries for its two transitional housing facilities. These pantries would be available for emergency use by the individuals and families staying at these facilities. We want the project team to look at the facilities, which have extra closets and wall space, and determine the best location for securely storing basic needs at each site. The shelving will then need to be installed and the pantry secured. Once that is done, the next task will be to stock the pantries and help create a plan for restocking, utilizing Housing Hope’s contacts in the community.
Feasibility Study – Expansion of Services Bridgeways now serves more than 600 people a year at two locations based in Everett. Due to a number of factors such as lack of access to transportation, severity of symptoms and frequency of required treatment, it is very difficult for clients to travel from rural parts of Snohomish County to Everett for these services. Bridgeways is seeking a feasibility study to evaluate the possible expansion of mental health services to eastern Snohomish County in a city such as Monroe. A feasibility study would help Bridgeways determine if expansion would be a good “mission fit,” be realistic and achievable given limited human and financial resources, and be well received and well utilized by residents of rural areas of Snohomish County. In addition, we would want to analyze the sustainability of this expansion, and possible impacts on existing resources.

Each year, non-profit organizations apply for projects to better serve their clients or to reach out in the community. Alumni from Leadership Snohomish County review all applications and select the projects for the class.
The class is divided into teams and work together to complete a project.
