HASCO is participating in a series of public forums hosted by Sno-Isle Libraries on homelessness in Snohomish and Island Counties. The last forum is scheduled for February 28th from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at the Mountlake Terrace Library. Previous forums in the series were held in Langley, Lake Stevens, and Arlington. Seeking Public Comment on our draft 2017 Public Housing Agency Plan

HASCO is currently seeking public comment on its draft 2017 Public Housing Agency Plan Update January 24, 2017 through March 10, 2017.  The Agency Plan is a HUD requirement and outlines HASCO’s goals and objectives for the coming year.  The Plan is also available for review at our office between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM on regular business days. Comments must be submitted in writing by mail to HASCO, Attn: Sarah Max at 12711 4th Ave W, Everett, WA 98204 or by e-mail to smax@hasco.org by 4:30 PM on March 10, 2017.

HASCO is Moving!

Beginning December 24, 2016 HASCO's computer and telephone systems will be taken offline to facilitate moving the office and equipment.  The work will be completed by start of business December 29 and regular computer and telephone systems services will be restored.

HASCO would like to invite Section 8 recipients to participate in a meeting to update our Agency Plan!

The plan primarily discusses the Section 8 Tenant-Based Assistance program and how it relates to housing needs in the community, the financial resources to meet the needs, and the policies and programs that HASCO intends to implement over the next twelve months. HASCO is now recruiting resident volunteers to serve on the Agency Plan Committee.

Public Hearings Re: 2017 Action Plan and 2015 Program Performance

The Snohomish County Division of Housing & Community Service invites community members to tell them about local affordable housing, public facility, infrastructure, and service needs for low- and moderate-income persons and provide input to the County on their performance under their Consolidated Plan. Public hearings are scheduled for Thursday December 8, 2016 at 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm.

Snohomish County Requests Public Comments On 2016 Action Plan Proposed Amendments

Snohomish County is requesting public comments on amendments to its 2016 Action Plan, which describes how the County will use federal funds designated for housing, public facilities, infrastructure and service projects for low- and moderate-income people.

Snohomish County releases its Draft 2015 Annual Report on HUD Funds for Public Comment

Snohomish County’s Draft 2015 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report, or CAPER, which evaluates the County’s progress towards annual and five year goals for the CDBG, HOME, and ESG federal grant programs through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), which fund housing and community development projects primarily benefitting low-income individuals, families and neighborhoods, is open for public review and comment through September 23, 2016.  For more information, the County has made flyers available in English and Spanish.

Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) is collecting personal stories from people who have struggled to afford housing and/or have experienced homelessness. Her office is looking for a large volume of stories to help demonstrate the widespread and urgent need to invest more federal resources in affordable housing. To submit stories, access the tool on Senator Cantwell’s website, “Affordable Housing & Homelessness: Share Your Story,” and fill out the short form. Personal details will be shared only with permission.
