No planned litters at this time. Check back Spring 2011 for updates.
A puppy is a commitment, not a trial run. Please do your research before making a selection for a forever family pet. Boxers have a lifespan of anywhere between 8 and 12 years. Are you ready for the commitment these dogs need of exercise, social interaction and mental stimulation? Are you ready for the snorting, snoring and exuberant greetings? Boxers are also well renowned for their flatulence (a trait of most brachycephalic breeds). Can you deal?
Boxers are a breed with (unfortunately) more health issues than some other breeds. Have you read up on what they are?As a reputable breeder, health screening is important to try to alleviate and reduce some of these issues. It is still vitally important that as the dog owner, keep the dog on a very nutritious and high quality dog food (this aids with the flatulence too!), regular vet care and exercise! All of these aid in the overall health of your family member.
Boxers are super social, and do well in homes with other dogs. Be aware that poorly socialized dogs can have a tendency towards dog-to-dog and small animal aggression. (that is one reason why I keep them here till they are at least 8 weeks old...) but as an owner, it is up to you to continue the socializing through to achieve a well mannered, happy, stable dog. In addition, I will never sell litter mates from the same litter to any family. Being a trainer and behaviorist, I want the home environment to be the BEST possible, and sibling litter mates just don't work.
My pups are sold as pet or show prospect. Pets are sold strictly on a spay / neuter contract. This means no breeding rights, no way, no how. For a reason. A pet is a pet, because it lacks show/breeding qualities; body conformation, coloring, bite, or otherwise. Fabulous healthy family companions, but not eligible for breeding. Show prospects are just that, prospects. They (as pups) seem to poses the potential to be a beautiful show dog. Perfect (or near) body conformation, pretty, mushy head, nice bite, nice markings, no obvious genetic flaws. These pups have the potential to contribute to a breeding program, provided they mature out nicely and have all the proper health testing when old enough. Contracts are to be expected with a show dog. Contract will be determined between Everlast and the buyer.
I am very selective about the homes my dogs go to. If you have read this section and are still committed to a boxer baby, then congrats, you have passed the first screening hurtle.
