A couple weeks ago I got the urge and went out and got an iPhone thinking maybe all of Zypes could switch over and it would be a great idea to know firsthand how to support them. Here are my impressions and remember this is compared to my Blackberry Storm with Verizon.
Weak battery: I am probably on the phone about an hour a day plus using the apps and I couldn't even make it till 6pm without needing to be charge it.
No button for answering calls: To answer them you would have to swipe the touch screen. This is a problem when I have gloves on. But I learned this really cool trick to answer my phone with my nose when I have gloves on.
No Multitasking: You couldn't run a third party application and do something else in the phone at the same time. The application would either shutdown or pause.
No Picture Messaging: don't know why but you can't
No TeleNav or Tom Tom: There is no real-time voice prompting navigation system available. But any other competing phone had this and the iPhone is more than capable so who knows why? Huge bummer!
No Voice recognition button: I couldn't just simply hit a button and speak "call mom". You would have to go to a third party application through a few key strokes with your nose again.
No Landscape Email keyboard: another brain buster. But I guess it's coming out this summer with the new OS update.
Very few application options: most applications have no options for personal preferences or for tweaking.
Week At&t signal: this was the deal breaker. AT&T has horrible coverage compared to Verizon.
Slow to connect phone calls: after you dial a number you would have wait almost 10 seconds for a call to connect. My blackberry would connect instantly.
Good stuff:
Speaker phone: was stellar
Camera: had no flash but always seemed to take great pictures.
Lots of Apps: the app download center is killer. This is probably the best thing about the iPhone.
Simple to operate: and once you get the hang of it, it's really easy and straight forward to operate.
Native Exchange Server support: it's built in and you can truly open any folder but it a little weird on how it receives messages. The blackberry needs work here.

This is great to know, a few of our developers purchased iPhones and really enjoy the flexibility and 'entertainment factor'.
When you do have signal from AT&T is the browser fast compared with other devices/networks you've come across.
As you know CoreConnex (www.coreconnex) offers a financial dashboard application for small businesses and IT service firms and we get asked all the time about mobility options.
Your thoughts would be appreciated.
